Laser therapy supports recovery from pain and injury.

It can be used alongside osteopathic treatment and care to boost healing.

The laser itself penetrates into the body tissues. It supports pain relief, cellular repair and tissue rejuvenation. The process is known technically as photobiomodulation. Cellular activity is stimulated and the circulation is improved. It is pain-free and comfortable to receive.

In a nutshell it speeds up recovery times.

The MLS laser therapy used in clinic offers a combined treatment at two different wavelengths – 808nm and 905nm on the light spectrum. This is near infrared. One wavelength is delivered in a pulsed manner the other more continuously. This allows for the device to be held against the skin for the whole treatment with no thermal injury or discomfort.

The sorts of problems that might be treated with laser therapy are:

  • Muscle spasm & pain
  • Arthritis
  • Sprains & strains
  • Back pain
  • Hip pain
  • Knee pain
  • Sciatica
  • Bursitis
  • Tendonitis
  • Haematoma & oedema
  • Sports injuries

The laser is safe to use. There are some instances where laser therapy isn’t appropriate. I will assess whether it is an appropriate course of action with every individual.
